About TheFinalGirl.net

TheFinalGirl.net evolved out of the horror fansite Bloody-Mess.Net, which was founded in late 2012 with the hope of creating an honest and open forum where real horror fans could discuss and review horror films, television, novels, comics, games, and whatever else might crop up. The writing staff was comprised primarily of seasoned writers who had previously written for other prominent horror sites but had found the atmospheres to be stifling and not conducive to any real creative thought. We came together with hope for putting together not only a site that would offer fair and honest reviews while providing a platform for new and independent filmmakers to showcase their work to the public. We explored topics ranging from film, independent fiction, and even true crime stories over the years.

In early 2019, our site founder and editor, Amanda Giarratano, who had previously written under the moniker ‘Dew Sinister’, saw that it was time for a change, and so TheFinalGirl.net was born. We hope to offer fresh insight to every aspect of the horror genre, with a pledge to always remain perfectly as honest and unbiased as possible. We hope to offer a unique take on the horror genre in viewing media from a largely feminist perspective, as well as delve deeper into the world of true crime and real-life paranormal happenings.
